warningWhat to watch out for at FertilityCare Calgary?

  • warning
    1. Inconsistent Communication
Several clients experience a decline in follow‑up after the first few months, describing delayed responses and feeling forgotten. This inconsistency can diminish confidence during critical treatment phases. Improved long‑term communication protocols are suggested.
  • warning
    2. High Program Costs
The mandatory cycle‑tracking software and quarterly payment structure are reported as expensive, especially when combined with supplement and medication expenses. Some patients feel the cost outweighs the perceived value of the service. Transparent pricing and optional alternatives could address these concerns.
  • warning
    3. Administrative Gaps
Instances of unclear referrals to external physicians and occasional confusion about program steps have been noted. Patients sometimes receive conflicting instructions regarding medication and testing timelines. Streamlining administrative processes would enhance the overall patient experience.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed, but are confused because you said communication was great. It is unclear who was being asked the questions that you were unable to get answered. Our program does not offer on demand help, so this would not be the right fit for anyone with a high needs situation. Many women with infertility experience high levels of anxiety. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate answering multiple questions outside of booked appointments. Physician referral requirements from your family doctor are beyond our control. It is very important to us that we communicate clear expectations before anyone starts the program. Everyone receives a fee schedule in writing with clear instructions, timeline of the process and what is included.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry if you felt let down and chose to write this a year after you last made contact. A three star review for an overall successful and beneficial program would suggest that your expectations are perhaps unrealistic as you did receive a personalized relationship with the providers. Communication about expectations in the program is very important to us, so everyone receives a fee schedule in writing with clear instructions, timeline of the process and what is included. It indicates that follow up appointments can be made as needed every 3 months. You did not receive any follow up long term from us is because the program does not offer that. All of our program follow ups are divided into 3 month periods of time. The onus is on the patient and not the practitioner to book follow up appointments on an as needed basis. This avoids patients from spending money on appointments they pay for but never attend. You were indeed referred to higher levels of care for long term interventions and support, which shows that we try to provide all we can for women with high needs.
